The cat was revered by the ancient Egyptians and treated as a divine being, worshipped as a goddess with both feline and human qualities. Because of its sacred nature, I deeply respect and value cats. In my personal life, a cat is a pet that reminds me of our ancestors. It is also a playful and affectionate companion. I consider this cat to be the guardian of my home, making it an essential animal that I cannot do without. In ancient Egypt, cats were important for interpreting dreams (Hastings ET el., 2004).
In dreams, the sight of a cat was thought to signify a bountiful harvest. Additionally, cats were esteemed as both playful companions and hunting partners, displaying remarkable cooperation with humans. They were also seen as auspicious for growing families and a blessing for newborns. In my life, as Ramses, the scribe responsible for grain distribution, my Lord cat holds great significance as a beloved
pet.
The cat holds a sacred significance in our culture similar to that of the Egyptians, and as such, it is deserving of respect from everyone. Beyond its role in preserving our history like it did for the Egyptians, the cat also possesses other forms of importance.
