The General Scholarship at GSU Perimeter College Essay Example
My goal is to be an engineer. It will require a lot of work and dedication. I believe that I have the motivation, commitment and determination to succeed. Since I was a child, I have wanted to be an engineer. I chose to be an engineer because I thought it would be fun to build or repair items and to design products, games or tools. As a kid, I grew up watching engineers build bridges, railroads, and buildings.
Also, I often made buildings and cars using just paper. I was quite good at it too. One of my teachers in first grade inspired me when she used paper plates to make a big house. I have valued the importance of education from a very young age. Now I’m attending Georgia State University Perimeter College. The reason why I chose this college is because it is a lot cheaper and it is nearby. Also, I really like the atmosphere at the campus. I believe this college would help me study engineering.
Engineering is the branch of science and technology concerned with the design, building, creating and use of engines, machines, and structures. It is a profession in which the forces of nature contribute to the benefit of mankind. I want to discover that benefit, and I want to change the world for the better. That
Is why I want be an engineer. In the future I want to work on the area that needs bridges, railroads, and buildings.
The world really needs engineers who can do the job well. The world today is facing traffic congestion. The solution to reduce traffic congestion is by building more tunnels, ring roads and light rail network. I want to help the world by becoming an engineer and work on these project. It comes from my own pride in doing the best job I can.
I was lucky enough to live with both of my parents. My family are from Ethiopia witch is in east Africa. They were able to pay for all of the activities that I have wanted to do. My parents have always expected me to do my homework. Also, they were ready to help me at all the time if I needed help. They have always told me that they will support any decision I make.
The lessons that I have learned from my parents have made me conscious of what I love to do. My parents knows that I am interested in the engineering, so they encouraged me to stay focused and study hard. I am doing just what they wanted me to do. I chose the general scholarship and they were really happy about it. I know that they will support me no matter what I decide to be.
To achieve all goals that I mention and to be successful in life, I must work hard and put in good work ethic. I will stay focused, complete all of my studies, and also gain the experience I would need to achieve throughout
my scholarship. Getting rid of negative thoughts will help me to stay focused. Also, I will have to stay out of stagnating thoughts. In the end my parents will be proud and I will have made an everlasting impact to my community.
