are aware of it or not. International relations are a natural choice because I have keen interest in public affairs. I want to get a wider knowledge about the complex relations across the world. My passion for Politics and International relations is unrelenting and that is why I would like to pursue this career path.

Secondly, I am a student that hopes to make it through my undergraduate level but the tuition fee is not too favorable to me. My mother is unemployed and there are other dependencies she has to also cater for. I lost my father a few years ago and the token he managed to keep for the family has been our source of living because my mother is not able to find a job due to her inability to go to college.

She sometimes makes ends meet by selling local juice at the primary school. She looks for alternatives to provide through the sales she makes whilst managing the little finances left. However, it is barely enough to even cover my tuition fee for a year and also my siblings because they will start college in October too.

Moreover, I am an international student who does not get financial aid and it is very difficult on my side because I need accommodation and allowances to serve me during my stay. The tuition fee is too expensive for me coupled with the expensive accommodation that needs to be paid as well.

I have already moved away from two places I’ve stayed since my arrival in Ghana to study in Lancaster University in search of a cheaper one. Utility bills and transportation are additional cost to me

even if I get a cheaper accommodation.

I sincerely hope to be a worthy candidate for the scholarship because I have a good academic record although not up to the required standard, a strong commitment to community service and an utmost diligence towards education. Attaining this scholarship will not only help me ease my expenses but it will help me strive towards my decided career.
