I have personally experienced the fields of Science and Health in various ways. As a child, I admired my uncle, who works as a Transplant Physician at a US Academic Institution. He played a significant role in nurturing my interest in science and emphasizing the significance of serving others. Additionally, I had the opportunity to shadow my cousin, who is employed in the pharmacy field. This provided me with a valuable introduction to fundamental pharmacy concepts. Moreover, I have participated in numerous medical meetings that have allowed me to comprehend the dedication of health practitioners to both science and patients.
Throughout my undergraduate years and various experiences, I have obtained the necessary tools and gained a valuable perspective on patient care. These encounters, along with my time as an undergraduate student, had a significant impact on both my personal and professional growth. As a student, I improved cri

Additionally, active participation in different university associations allowed me to raise awareness about disparities and their effects on psychological and physical health in low socioeconomic communities. It is essential to address these educational gaps for the social and scientific advancement of future generations.
During my academic training, I was involved in various research projects as an undergraduate student. One project focused on investigating the relationship between salivary amylase concentration and acid production by oral bacteria in microbiology. Additionally, I contributed to a study that examined variations in the promoter region of lactase and took responsibility for designing primers used in DNA sequencing within bioinformatics.
Furthermore, I successfully synthesized three new compounds derived from 2-metylbenzimidazole, commonly used as a basis for antimicrobial and antitumor drugs.
Participating in these research endeavors provided valuable opportunities to develop important qualities such as patience, commitment, and responsibility towards my own work. By adhering to clinical standards and using primary references, I gained expertise in experiment design while also honing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These experiences equipped me with the ability to effectively manage stress and collaborate harmoniously within a team setting on a personal level. Moreover, they played a crucial role in strengthening my unwavering conviction and shaping my character – qualities that are essential for achieving success throughout my journey at pharmacy school.
After completing pharmacy school, my goal is to establish myself at an academic institution. This will allow me to continue utilizing the clinical skills and research interests that I gained during my time at The University of Puerto Rico. Pharmacy school marks the beginning of my growth as a healthcare professional and reinforces my dedication to scientific pursuits.
Additionally, pharmacy school will enhance my competence and proficiency in equipping patients with the necessary knowledge and resources for adhering to their prescribed medications. It will also help me better understand potential side effects and drug interactions. Ultimately, my objective is to deliver exceptional pharmacy care to patients.
