It was mid-October, and I was planning my Halloween costume. I painted over my rosy-cheeked complexion to be entirely white. I put on an all-black crushed velvet cloak and my mom’s 4-inch leather heels. Finally, I put in my adhesive-filled, plastic pointed teeth. Looking in the mirror, I saw my vampire-like face and felt ready for Halloween.
