Motivation can be defined in various ways, through both academic definitions and simpler literature. Different writers have provided diverse interpretations of motivation to suit different scenarios. Several experts offer a widely used definition for understanding motivation, including “The psychological process that gives behavior purpose and direction” (Kreitner, 1995) and “an internal drive to satisfy an unsatisfied need” (Higgins, 1994). Through motivating employees in Pakistan, companies in the public sector have been able to achieve both personal and managerial objectives. Smith (1994) linked the implementation of motivation with company survival.

organizations. Therefore, managers should prioritize employee motivation in order to achieve desired results. Numerous studies have shown that money becomes less of a motivating factor as employee income increases.

It has been noticed that with an increase in an employee's age, their motivation is greatly influenced by the level of challenge in the projects assigned to them. As experience and observation accumulate, smaller, less demanding projects may lead an employee to feel disconnected from the organization. Motivation can be defined as the mental impetus driving action, as explained in basic literature.

Simply put, motivation is the act of directing oneself towards a specific goal. The driving force behind this action stems from two fundamental sources; firstly, from the fulfillment of basic human necessities, and secondly, from the need for employees to receive affirmation, appreciation, and recognition for their work.
