Residents in the community must ban together to keep it clean and free from run down abandoned property. Many of the communities in the town close to mine are filled with debris and abandoned houses. What can we do to clean up our streets and rid them of these eye sores that are abandoned houses? One way is to form community groups that target these problems. At last resort the committee may have to inform the authorities or task force that handles abandoned properties.

...h they reside in clean. If we stop the littering and teach our children that it is wrong to litter we will begin to make it better for the future. In most towns or states they have what is called Habitat for Humanity where they will build up property for those that can’t afford it.
Most of the problems come from drug addiction and the lack of education. The neighborhood also suffers from the grass or lawns that go undone. Garbage is thrown on the ground and on lawns. Trash is being spilled out onto the streets.
Animals and pests frequent the garbage and leave trails of food. Some schools have cleaning days where the students go out in the neighborhood and clean and get rewards. In my city, the vacant lots are being used to grow food for the neighborhood. Plants suffer
with a number of diseases and pests during their growth phase. Fungi not only blemish, disfigure or cause rot to a number of fruits but also reduce their market value, (Arya, 2004).
A major source of Federal aid to State and local governments is the Community Development Block Grants (CDBG). This agency helps clean up neighborhoods and help.
