Immigration is a contentious issue in Britain because there are positive and negative aspects of this major issue. I believe that there are more positive aspects of immigration, therefore in my opinion it is good for Britain.

The language itself, English is made up of many foreign languages; this is caused by multiple invasions occurring in Britain centuries ago. The invaders of this country were the Vikings, Romans, Normans and Anglo-Saxons. This is the reason for different cities containing different accents and pronunciation of particular words. I think this is the reason why Britain has a multi-cultural population, as this is a country that is the melting pot of Europe. Today you can see how the European Union expansion has affected the local society in terms of an increase in population and culture.

opulation means more jobs are taken up therefore increasing the tax input, helping schools, hospitals etc. Many people would argue that immigration is bad for Britain. They argue this point mainly because of the vast increase in population, which is loading pressure on the public services, making it difficult for people to travel with ease and less stress. Another key factor for people being against immigration is "feckless" immigrants entering the country with no English, key skills and qualifications therefore draining resources thus increasing workers to pay more tax. All this said I still am certain that immigration will assist Britain because this would apply this country with many advantages like increase the tax revenue that will help the economy.

citizens with an understanding about many fascinating cultures. The outcome to this situation would bring people together and bring about respect for one another. But the most important issue is that immigrants are needed for this country is to run the factories: without them the factories would have to close down, and the NHS would collapse since many doctors, nurses, surgeons are from abroad. The BBC news article supports the issue of immigrants to enter this country but only if the foreigners are well prepared and develop key skills like communication in English. They need this in particular, Ania Heasley a director of recruiting agency says, "I think that Poles have learnt a lesson and now they come more prepared," this shows the key to success is preparation especially in Britain as many jobs require good communication.

Numerous immigrants come to Britain in search of a better life but this isn't the case for some arrivals like Magda Wachowska, "I have given up my comfortable life in Warsaw and it seems the dreams are a long way ahead of me," this emphasises further about the importants of preparation because she had to spend 2,000 on just moving to London and selecting a decent place to live. This illustrates how the aims that people set for themselves puts them in a different circumstance the higher their expectations the harder they would have to work. Also according to the BBC News article immigrants give up their comfort to arrive to the U.K.

Once there in the U.K immigrants have no option but to find a suitable job that pays enough money for a stable living. Pal Nemeth an immigrant says,

"It is hard not to find a job and it is really difficult to live without one." This clearly justifies how comfort is not an option it is vital to earn money by getting a job.

Then again lots of the immigrants from Eastern Europe have achieved their goals. They have accomplished this because all they were looking for was a decent amount of money were they can make a living out of. This is an example of choosing achievable standards that can be made, as Britain is a country where tax and bills are difficult to balance with the input of money an average person earns. It is more difficult for immigrants to achieve this balance because they have to adapt to a different lifestyle as well as the environment. This is why immigrants are finding it tricky to cope with their jobs and even looking for a job where it supplies the correct sum of money for the hours accomplished. Subsequently lack of money is one of the main reasons for most immigrants not to reach their aims.

The conclusion to the BBC News article is that it is displaying the immigrants' side of the story as it shows their views of how they are finding life in the U.K; there are positive and negative issues of their experience so this news article shows no signs of bias. This can let the readers make up their own decisions about immigration instead of influencing them on which side to pick from. According to the Daily Mail immigrants are coming in draining resources. This is creating unprecedented pressure on schools, hospitals and roads. This newspaper article is

very biased and is trying to influence people to be against immigration.

The Daily Mail is against the E.U expansion because the vast population of immigrants entering Britain and heavily relying on benefits. This article provides numerous facts such as, 'migrants are costing the tax-payer up to 60 million in benefits.' This article is highly influential as it brings about these types of facts and combines it with other opinions that are against immigration. This can mislead people to dislike immigrants. This article only picks out all the bad aspects of immigration as a result it is seen to be heavily biased against immigrants.

A lot of unjustified opinions are shown as well as exaggeration such as, 'growth of population is the equivalent of a city the size of Sheffield.' This is the type of statements that is unjustified showing a lot of criticism towards immigrants. I personally think that the E.U expansion is increasing the British population as a vast number of Eastern Europeans are entering, so there is a certain proportion of these immigrants gaining benefits from the government but then again you have got a significant sum of these immigrants filling up unwanted jobs for a considerable low wage thus paying taxes. This surely must help the tax revenue and make up for the inconsequential amount of immigrants who receive benefits.

Overall this would have balanced the benefits given to immigrants. There is also the factual side to this article, which again points out the negative aspects of immigration, 'Between July and September this year, 59,000 arrived, 3,000 more than in the previous three months and the equivalent of 656 new arrivals a day,' such

statistics like this will easily manipulate the reader to think bad of immigration. This statement points out the vast increase of Britain's population is causing pressure on public services again this shows signs of the article being biased. The Daily Mail had not mentioned about these immigrants who gave up comfort in their own country and paying tax even though working for a low wage it is only referring to the "feckless" ones who rely profoundly on benefits. I think this article is racist, unfair and obviously biased against immigrants this is because it had made several negative comments, 'drifting off into the black market to work illegally.

' This is more considerable proof about unjustified statements. This article lacks credibility, as there were no interviews, which is another clear indication that it is biased. Although it can be argued that immigration is bad because of increased population, pressure on public services, racism etc, this is all balanced with the low wage pay, helping the tax revenue, taking up unfilled jobs and the population in Britain is getting older so we need more workers in the country. The government is paying out too much in pensions and not getting enough tax from workers and immigrants can be the solution to this issue. This is why I believe immigrants can help develop Britain, which will make dramatic changes for the good.
