Freires and Mark Edmundson, both give their ideas on education best practices. This paper will synthesize their ideas and what is most significant as well as identify common grounds and differences and the areas they both never considered.

Looking at the America system of education and the ways through which students are doing their studies, the ideas of the two are of great heed to the whole education system. Several discouraged, weak, and denied youthful grownups, frightful and confounded, are going through the education system. Either succeeding or failing, there is the need to focus more on what it means to be educated. College of Virginia educator Mark Edmundson portrays scenes nearly as grim on his grounds and in his classroom.

The two, however, failed to address some key issues. Whether the students understand Freire claims or they get educated for transformation, it is most important to socially appear as educated. Education is supposed to be reflected in the social lives of the students. Morality is supposed to be a key reflection of educated fellows. The current education system does not embrace this with students focusing on education for economic purposes and prestige and not to advance their daily lives morally

However, as the two argues, it is very essential that students embrace the idea of understanding and rehearsing what students learn as argued by Freire. Students in the current schools aim of passing exams. They do not bother utilizing the knowledge they have but look much for passing examinations. This has been the reason as to why the different organizations and careers are flooded with graduates who are not competent (Freire, 90).

As Mark Edmundson says, students should know that learning is not only listening to what the instructor says and keeping in mind what to respond. It is however more off putting to practice and rehearsing the knowledge. They should therefore aim at becoming educated to make themselves better and be of more value, not only in their careers but also the society at large.
