Special education refers to the system of education given to the physically and mentally challenged persons. This is because there could be difficulties in with them coping with the normal system of education. Thus they end up being given additional attention and care too. There are some issues that have currently emerged in the special education which need to be addressed.

The issue of full inclusion has developed in the recent past whereby the students are supposed to be included in all curriculum and co-curriculum activities irrespective of their disability. They should also be allowed to go to the schools of their choice as this will give them a chance to compete with other students hence giving them encouragement and proving to the world that disability is not disability. ay that it can incorporate both abled and disabled students rather than coming up with schools that only cater for the disabled students only which makes them to think that they are excluded from the other students.

There is also a major concern between both the parents and professionals which evolves on the arguments on the categorization of disabilities. They have been on toes to know whether the students should be labelled as blind, deaf, dumb or as per the disability. There has been need to come to common grounds on how to categorize these disabled students in terms of learning. Once there is a clear labelling, the teachers and the professionals will be in a position to help these students appropriately.
