It blends both genres to depict Marjane's transition from childhood to adolescence, conveying an important message. Throughout the interactive oral, we explored various examples from the first book of Persepolis that demonstrated this message, such as Marjane's tendency to lie to her parents and the outside world.

However, what we found during this interactive discussion was that her acts of rebellion were more than just typical teenage defiance. In fact, every time Marjane defied her parents – like when she protested their commands – she wasn't just challenging their authority but also primarily rebelling against the new Iranian regime.
During the interactive oral, we discussed the danger faced by a female teenager in a repressive regime. We also highlighted the significant influence Marjane's family had on her beliefs and opinions, despite her oppressive background and culture.
