Cambodia have many kind of trees, but one kind of tree that we always see along the road when we went to province, and we always consider as the national heritage tree is palm tree. The country view is characterized by the presence of this tree. Millions of palm tree densely grow in the province of Kompong Cham, Kandal, Kompong Chnang, Kompong.Speu, Pursat, Takeo, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, and Kompong.Thom. Palm tree has given many advantages to people in our country.
Palm tree is a sexed tree. Female palm produces much more juice than male. It may take about 20 years before first harvest and Tnot may live over a hundred year of age. Many Cambodian people plant palm tree to identify their land limit or simply for gardening.
...That is why palm tree is found in many private and public urbanization projects in recent years.
Palm tree has height from five to ten meter, and leaves look like a palm. It has green leaf, and has a brown fruit. In a stem have five to six fruits. In side the palm fruit, it has five small fruits. It has a white fruit and tastes very sweet.
This tree has give a lot of advantages to the people live in the village. Their leaves and branches are used to make roofs and other materials like broom, hat, and basket for using in home, so some farmers do not have to spend much money on building. Moreover, their fruits are used for vegetable and dessert. It has given sweet water to the people in ten liters per day. Palm tree ar
processing and marketing of products made from palm tree such as wines, soft drinks, vinegars, sugars, liquors, etc. For the sugar, it taste sweet, delicious and smell very good.
The economic of people in villages has improved from palm tree. They have created a palm tree community. In this community they has make sugar and vinegar to earn more money to provide their family. The people in the country has make sugars and climb the palm tree to get palm water.
In conclusion, we saw that palm tree is a tree that has provided many advantages to the people in our country. I think that when the palm tree is the very important tree which gives a lot of advantages to the people, it has a deforestation that we have to preserve. I hope all of us should have to join together to preserve this tree for young generations’ to know why palm tree is very important for us.
