There are two types of businesses, private and public. The difference between public companies and private companies is their ownership. Private held companies are under control of a single or group of shareholders when public companies are owned by the government.

Top shop is operating in private sector. It is a Public Limited Company this means they sell their shares on the stock exchange and that it’s available to the public to purchase shares. Every public limited business is regulated by law to include a plc at the end of their brand name. Since top shop is a public limited company it has a limited liability. Limited liability is when the business goes bankrupt; the owner is not responsible for its debt. Top shop is a British chain of clothing stores that operates in more than 20 countries.

They sell already produced products that were made primary and secondary sector. Top Shop is not directly involved in the production process – the clothing they sell is produced by a different firm in underdeveloped countries. Everyone can access their product either in store or online.

Top Shops business purpose is to produce and sell high quality clothing for a competitive price. They need to ensure that the product is good and price reasonable to obtain the most important goal for all the businesses which operate at the public sector – survive and to generate profit. Top Shop currently offers their products at a low price furthermore, to become a customer friendly business they offer a student discount. The actions they undertake allow them to obtain their aims.

The sector they operate at does not get any founds from the government therefore they need to generate profit from the sales they make. Top shop is a tertiary sector. Tertiary sector mainly focus on providing products or services to consumers; comparing to primary and secondary sector in which the product is produced.

It is a Government owned business. They obtain its founds via government founding, this means that the police does not have to generate any founds within the business. It also means that they have no control over resources and decision making. This structure allows them to focus on the safety and improving safety of citizens. Police obtain their money by the taxes which are paid to the government. The main benefit of police operating system is unlimited resources. In addition they won’t go bankrupt. The disadvantage is that for any decision making you need a government approval.

The main aim of the police is to ensure safety of citizens; their structure allows them to obtain their aim. There are several pressure groups that affect the actions undertaken by the police.
