Introduction

We live in modern world with different beliefs, races as well as cultural differences and one thing they have in common is the fact that health-care services are provided for all. Just like these different aspects of human preferences, sexual orientations should not be the exception (Journal of Women’s Health, 2013). Despite the legalization of the gay community there are still large numbers of discrimination towards them in society as well as in healthcare (Journal of Homosexuality, 2014).

Research also contributes to this matter by pointing out that this particular group of people do not receive full health-care from providers due to reluctance in association that companies or organizations have so as not to tarnish their images (Medical Education, 2012). This is also because healthcare givers do not want their loyal customers to pull out because of including a homosexual or trans-gender individual.

It is important to realize that human kind is what it is regardless of anyone’s sexual orientation. Exposure as well as training institutions for doctors, should incorporate lessons on how to facilitate healthcare effectively to the gay community (Contemporary Nurse, 2013). It is therefore important to realize that humanity is not a choice but rather an obligation. Everyone is equal!
