Design and Construction of workshop for Wait Staff Essay Example
Upon reflection and self-evaluation of my problem-solving abilities, I have come to the conclusion that enlisting external assistance would be beneficial in managing the workshop for wait staff. While a restaurant manager may possess good communication skills and confidence, there is always room for improvement. Similarly, while a restaurant manager may excel in problem-solving, there may be a deficiency in the ability to gather all relevant information and effectively persuade others. Hence, it would be advantageous for the restaurant manager to invite managers or waiters from successful restaurants to address their staff as guest speakers.
The assumption is that the wait staff may benefit more once they get ideas from those who do similar jobs with them. To prepare for the workshop, it is recommended to hire many mystery diners to evaluate the service delivery at the restaurant and t
...hen discuss their feedback with the wait staff. This will provide the wait staff with firsthand information about their performance. Additionally, the restaurant manager should approach the owners to request the installation of cameras to monitor the wait staff's service. The workshop should begin by distributing a list of agendas, copies of rules to be followed by the employees, and guidelines for the employees' time framework for each task they perform.
Afterwards, the invited guest speaker should come on stage and address the wait staff. Following that, the mystery diners should discuss their experiences with the service, including their evaluation and reasons for their judgment. They should also provide suggestions on areas of improvement. Finally, the workshop should end with a presentation on proper wait staff behaviors and the rules and regulations to be followed to enhance custome
