The desire to have a job that one loves or feels passionate about is universal. Personally, I have always had the dream of finding my true calling.
Throughout my life, I have always had a strong desire to push boundaries and follow my passion. Specifically, I held a deep fascination for Science fiction and Spy fiction in various forms such as movies and books. The joy I derive from solving problems has been consistent. In fact, during my secondary education, I was introduced to mechanical ciphers which intrigued me by the ancient art of sending covert messages. From that point on, the notion of information security has captivated me and becoming a professional in this field is now my goal.
Throughout my Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, I developed a strong understanding of the importance of information security in our fast-pa
...ced digital world. This led me to pursue a role as an Identity and Access Management Administrator ; Developer within the security industry. Over the past 6 years, I have gained extensive experience in utilizing a range of technologies including cloud-based services, SSO, and various identity and access management tools.
In addition to managing these tools, I have also provided customized solutions. As a Team Lead for Identity and Access Management, I have gained international experience, but I acknowledge that there is more to learn in order to become an information security expert. Keeping up with the latest technology is crucial, so I have decided to further my education, enhance my professional skills, and explore the fascinating world of security.
After obtaining a Master's degree in Information Systems Security from the University of the Cumberlands, I a
now prepared to pursue my goal. In my first semester, I gained knowledge on information security laws and the importance of physical security. In the upcoming semester, I look forward to exploring cryptography and application security for an even more thrilling experience. The curriculum at the University of the Cumberlands aligns directly with cyber security education standards set by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Security Agency (NSA), and (ISC)2 CISSP Common Body of Knowledge. This not only gives me a competitive edge but also presents numerous opportunities for future success.
In the future, I aspire to pursue a career in security system analysis or development. My goal is to improve my skills, work on challenging projects, and collaborate with experienced professionals who can help me grow. In ten years, I see myself becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and guiding others in the industry as a mentor. I plan to use my expertise to assist them in achieving success.
