Professor #1 began her internship at Frank's Char Broiler.
Her role as a cashier involved entering the total amount and determining the change for customers, which marked the start of her professional journey in technology. In high school, she took a class called ROP, whose meaning remains unknown to her till now. This class aimed to help students enter the workforce, enhance their resumes, earn money for college, and earn class credit. Upon joining this class, she quickly landed a job as a bank teller at First Interstate Bank in Santa Barbara.
Her job at the bank involved customer service and data entry into the company’s computer database. She held this position during her senior year but left when she stopped attending the ROP class and enrolled at Santa Barbara Community College. During her time at SBCC, she wa
...s hired to conduct lab work at Cottage Hospital where she worked closely with the lab's technology as a researcher.
Upon arrival at the location, she immediately observed its description as "cold and industrial". Despite the presence of sophisticated machinery, a significant portion of the laboratory tasks were executed manually. Professor #2 began his career as a newspaper delivery boy at the tender age of 8. When questioned about the technology he utilized in the late 50s, he reminisced using folded paper secured with rubber bands. As his educational journey advanced, he made the choice to resign from his job and focus solely on his studies.
Eventually, his hard work paid off when he was accepted into UC Davis. During the summers, he returned home and worked as a postal serviceman for the Los Angeles Post Office for fou
years, delivering mail to people in the LA area. After graduating, he obtained a research position in Queensland, Australia and later moved to California to become a teacher at Florida Atlantic University. This marked his initial full-time teaching job.
Using the technological advancements of that time period, he integrated videos into his lectures, thereby introducing an extra means of instruction into the curriculum.
After spending years teaching in Florida, he was offered a Professor position at Channel Islands. He relocated to the Camarillo area together with his wife and commenced his tenure at the college.
