Action Plan for Optimal Health and Wellness Project Essay Example
Our objective is to promote three key elements of well-being and fitness in the community. These include Physical health, which pertains to our ability to perform necessary everyday tasks (ADLs) required for contemporary living. In addition, Environmental health emphasizes the significance of preserving, protecting, and improving the external environment while acknowledging each individual's responsibility towards it.
Both spiritual and physical health are crucial for overall well-being. Spiritual health encompasses embracing worldviews, accepting religious doctrines or belief in a supreme being, feeling connected to a higher power, and having a guiding principle or purpose in life. Meanwhile, taking care of physical health is also vital for leading a healthy lifestyle. Consuming nutritious foods leads to positive emotions, increased energy levels, stabilized mood, and healthy weight loss. Vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants can be obtained from fresh fruits and veget
...ables.
Consuming fruits and vegetables is essential for accessing antioxidants and other crucial nutrients that safeguard against various illnesses, especially certain types of cancer. Regular physical activity is vital for overall health as it promotes longevity and healthy weight reduction by boosting metabolism, burning calories, promoting balanced caloric intake, and enabling efficient weight control.
To reduce the risk of weight-related illnesses such as heart disease and type two diabetes, it is essential to have a well-balanced diet and regularly exercise. Poor eating habits and lack of physical activity can cause chronic health problems. In the US, around 66% of deaths are due to cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes (Weegy Pro, 2013). To prevent chronic diseases and decrease the danger linked with weight-related ailments, individuals should incorporate consistent exercise into their daily routine, adhere to a balanced diet plan, and embrace a health
lifestyle.
To prevent chronic illnesses, it is important to refrain from smoking, maintain a healthy diet, and regularly engage in physical activity. A study was carried out in Germany involving 25,000 individuals who met certain requirements: not being smokers, having a BMI below 30, engaging in at least 3.5 hours of exercise weekly while consuming a diet high in fruits and vegetables with limited meat consumption. After eight years, additional research disclosed that among the original participants, there were 2,000 instances of chronic disease.
According to Rodale News (2013), a reduction of 78% in the probability of chronic disease is possible by increasing public awareness about healthy lifestyles, allocating more resources for prevention programs and research, and ensuring greater access to medical professionals for early detection, treatment, and prevention of cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. In addition, educating people about alternative medicine that uses natural remedies to restore balance within the body can also be significant. Alternative medicine focuses on treating individuals holistically rather than just addressing their symptoms or illnesses.
Various environmental factors within a person's home can affect their well-being. A poorly functioning ventilation system can lead to contaminated air, which can cause breathing problems and other health issues. When combined with polluted air, secondhand tobacco smoke can be particularly harmful. The residue from smoke can persist for a long time and put non-smokers at risk. Furthermore, the development of mold may result in respiratory diseases or allergic reactions that pose a danger to one's health.
Protecting and strengthening your immunity is crucial for maintaining good health, as harmful substances like cleaning chemicals and secondhand smoke from theme parks can negatively impact breathing and potentially enter the
body. Immunity refers to the capacity to fight off a specific disease by combatting its causative agent.
In order to prevent the spread of germs, it is important to adopt healthy lifestyle practices. This includes washing hands before cooking and cooking meats thoroughly for food safety. Living in crowded cities, traveling frequently, and being in group settings like daycare or school can make us more vulnerable to illness. Quitting smoking is imperative as it can cause lung damage and cancer. Consuming a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and non-saturated fats is also crucial for boosting our immune system. Additionally, maintaining an active lifestyle and a healthy weight are necessary steps towards achieving overall health.
The promotion of good health involves various recommendations, such as controlling blood pressure and consuming alcohol in moderation. Adequate rest to reduce stress and regular medical checkups are also advised for optimal well-being. Moreover, the use of natural products to enhance the immune system can be beneficial (Alive, 2013).
Chinese mushrooms are known to function as tonics and enhance resistance against various types of stress. They also contribute to extended longevity according to Hadassah Medical Organization (2013). Although it may be difficult, improving the immune system and obtaining optimal health is invaluable.
