is that we live in a country where there all types of people. In this case, there are pro-choice people; the people that stand with abortion, pro-life people; people that stand against abortion, and people that demonstrate neutrality; people who aren’t for or against abortion. This quote allows people to see that every woman should get a choice, whether she would like to terminate her pregnancy or not. Also, this quote illustrates that no matter what some may believe, there are people who are fighting for a choice.

There are many beliefs that all babies should be born regardless of your feelings toward it, but many people who support abortion agree that babies should not be brought into the world unwanted. Studies have shown that unwanted pregnancies have affected the kids in a negative way. For example, according to the Colorado Dept. of Public Health and Environment, some kids end up with birth defects, suffer from physical abuse, and violence while inside the mother. The suggestion here is that unintended pregnancies can lead to unwanted births, and those unwanted births have caused deficiencies within the child as well as problems within the mother. No doubt that these problems can happen to children that are wanted, but this means that unnecessary problems have been caused all because a woman was forced to have a child she didn’t really want. Additionally, if unwanted babies are brought into the world, mothers may feel as though they should have made a different choice, and the babies may feel unloved. For example, this is Lena of San Diego’s story, “Then Lena became pregnant. At first, she thought she had the flu.

But when her doctor tested her and confirmed a pregnancy, she knew right away she didn’t want to bring a baby into their lives,” (Zerwick). From this, the reader can infer that if Lena had become a mother, she may have treated her baby unkindly and in a bad manner. Also, an inference to be drawn from this is that if Lena would have had her unwanted baby, the baby may have felt unloved and might’ve grown up to be unsuccessful. Or maybe they would’ve grown up and displayed sociopathic behavior because of the lack of love they would’ve received as a child. For mothers in this situation, this could be the reality of their child’s life.

Some people may argue that babies have the right to be born no matter the circumstances, but it is ultimately the woman’s choice what she does. Living in the twenty-first century, a woman should have a choice. For example, if a woman would like to have an abortion, she should be able to get one. She should be able to get one without being looked down upon, or without being judged. Also, she should be able to get an abortion if it will benefit her and if it is just simply right for her. One other argument commonly made by those who are pro-life is adoption. Although adoption is a choice, maybe the woman does not want to put her body through a world of pain. Or perhaps if the woman has the baby and puts the baby up for adoption, she may feel worse. For example, in a show, Once Upon a Time, it was harder for the

mother to have a child in the world and not know them as opposed to not having the child. Is it really that bad if a woman has an abortion? Isn’t she just making a choice to benefit her and the child? After all, abortion is a fundamental right.

The evidence clearly illustrates that abortion should be a choice and that it should be legal in all or most cases. Americans and people all around the world should become more open-minded to abortion. It is not murder, but a mere choice that benefits most people that make the decision to choose that path. In conclusion, John Wooden said it best, “There is a choice you have to make in everything you do. So keep in mind, the choice you make, makes you.”
