Crime and drama dominates most of the television shows in the world today. These are mostly action movies and shows which have been staged. These may depict real life situations but they have been exaggerated. First of all, the action itself is too much. There is so much fighting and people murder each other in a quite unrealistic way. However, these shows have gained a lot of publicity and many people enjoy watching them. This is million dollar industry in which people earn a lot of money. Many people have been addicted to watching these films and the producers and actors have found an avenue to create wealth. These shows have an effect on the society we live. The things people watch on television impact them in one way or another. The point of concern is what is the relationship between crim

e and drama films to the reality? Do they show what exactly happens on the real world today? The thesis of this proposal is that crime dramas aren’t reality (Katie, pg.12).

The current world is filled with criminal activities with perpetrators being brought to justice every day. Cases of murders and robbery with violence are rampant in our society today. There is much cry for criminal justice and the mass media shows how much crime has enslaved civilization. The movie writers have found an avenue of getting an audience. of many movie writers and play writers. They have taken this opportunity write fictitious stories on crime and drama. Their setting is such that they depict a real world situation but with an exaggeration. What we watch in movies is definitely not what is found in the world today(Katie, pg.14).

Writers associate crime and drama films as a drug of which many people are addicted to. Every time of the day there is always an episode or a crime series showing. Under all circumstance, there are always people watching. This is particularly for all ages starting from the youngest to the oldest. There are even favorite television shows of which people cannot miss. The question is what role do these shows play in our society today? The most focus is on the situations in prisons. There is a public outcry on the happenings that take place in the prisons. In that regard, people have taken it to the center stage to address the issues on prisons. It is true that the prison is not the best place to spend your summer holiday. However, the filmmakers have quite exaggerated on the situations of the prison. They depict these places as death zones where only the fierce can survive. That is absolutely not true (Sarat, pg.10).

It is public knowledge that in most cases only criminals go to prison except for a few mistaken identities. A prison is not the place where people go to continue with their crimes. These are actually correction centers of which people are molded to better citizens. Like any other institution, there are always cases of misconduct. The ones that happen in prisons are

not an exceptional. These are human beings living under the same roof. There is always a mad man in every market. This is to tell the people who watch crime and drama movies that what they see on films is not what happens in the real world. These are just people who are trying to make a living out of making fictitious stories. But I agree with everyone that these movies are actually interesting to watch. The problem comes in when they start to change the mentality of the people. This is when they start making conclusions based on movies. That is not the right thing to do(Sarat, pg.12).

The world today is not the safest place to live in. The notion that movies have impacted on people is that the only way to be safe is to imprison all criminals. The points is catching them and locking them away. Imprisoning even half of the population does not mean that we will be living on safe grounds. Crime is a rather complicated issue which evens the justice department is unable to solve sometimes. Crime drama gives the viewers a notion that they are able to analyze on how to solve crime. There is always a formula that crime drama follow while solving crimes. It shows people with special skills and knowledge of which they use to solve cases. Persons having flawless ideologies and on point decision making which in the end the bad guys are always caught. Even one person can solve a murder cases on these movies. Using their specialized skills, God knows where they got them from; they are able to give a lead

that will perpetuate the catching of a criminal. These are lies which cannot be tolerated. What happens on these movies has no relationship whatsoever with the real action on the ground. Walk in to a police station and ask them what it takes to solve a single crime. You will find no relationship with what you see on movies (Olivia, pg.9).

This is the catch in movies. The buildings of characters that have unrealistic abilities attract the audience. Most of the actions are normally scientifically simulated so as allow the individuals to have better abilities. The most amazing thing is that the outcome of every episode is more or less the same. The criminal in most cases always gets caught. Then they always make people believe that the criminal will be locked away for a long time. This is not the reality in the world. Some criminals are really advanced in their criminal activities. Their moves are precise and sometimes undetectable. It takes a hell long time before a criminal is caught. This also requires man power and many days of gathering evidence to the case. Sometimes even criminals go without being caught. This is because in most cases the police officers to do not have the right equipment to pursue a target. This is different from crime drama movies. The law enforcers always have the necessary equipment to get the bad guy. This is a fictitious world in which the law enforcers wish to be living in(Olivia, pg.11).

Crime and drama plays an important role in the life of the young ones. These are people who are trying to choose their career paths. In the films,

the police officers are depicted as people with exceptional abilities. This includes being strong physically, being very smart intellectually, and always causing harm to people. This is the character of police as shown on movies. This theory of a police officer is not right. Those personalities have been over exaggerated. Police officers are not super heroes who move around like Spiderman saving people. Police officers are normal human beings who are just passionate about solving crimes. They do not have those superstitious abilities that crime and drama portray them to be having. The young people should avoid these notions when choosing a career path in their life (Gueren, pg.8).

Crime drama has also given the people something to think about. On these television shows, the criminals are always under the influence of something. In most cases they are always under the influence of alcohol and drugs. This is not the case in the real world. There many criminals who have been caught in their sober state without any additional medication or drugs. They are just criminals with immoral behaviors practicing an uncouth way of living. That is to tell crime and drama to stop lying to us. Even studies were carried out in the United States between data from the movies and the actual data from crime that has taken place in the world today. Also, on films, the attackers sometimes do not even know the victim. However, in the world today, the perpetrators of crime always have a good knowledge of their victims. It is quite clear that crime drama is not real in the world. These are staged actions that are meant to attract

an audience. People should not make life decisions based on the movies they watch(Gueren, pg.16).
