Artistic gymnastics for women involves four main events, namely Vault, Uneven Bars, Floor Exercise and Balance Beam. The Vault event normally requires the use of a runway that is 25 meters in length, where the gymnast jumps off a springboard or beat board.
This case will showcase the gymnast performing a sprint and landing briefly on the board before remaining inverted on her hands, placed on either the vaulting table or horse. The gymnast will then jump off the platform and strive for a two-footed landing, potentially incorporating somersaults and multiple Salto moves in the post-flight portion of the routine. The most frequently observed type of vaulting event among female gymnasts are the round-off entry vaults.
In this type of round-off entry vaulting, the gymnast performs a round-off motion where their hands are on the runway and their feet land on the beat board or spr
...ingboard, allowing them to come back to their feet with the post flight segment. Somersaulting and twisting combinations may also be used. The vaulting horse was previously used but was replaced in 2001 by the safer and more stable vaulting table, which is longer and wider.
Thanks to the implementation of a more stable apparatus, female gymnasts are now attempting more challenging and difficult vaults. The Uneven Bars event involves female gymnasts using two horizontal bars placed at varying heights, made with fiberglass and covered in wood laminate. Previously, wooden bars were used, but modern technologies were adopted due to the risk of breakage. These new technologies also allowed for successful width adjustments.
Within this event, gymnasts demonstrate various movements utilizing horizontal bars, including transitional and release moves, circling, swinging, and transitional moves
A handstand may be employed to transition between movements. Additionally, gymnasts perform well-choreographed routines that incorporate turns, somersaults, leaps, and other elements.
As part of these movements, various acrobatic skills are showcased, including floor exercises carried out on a big plywood covered with firm foam. This surface is upheld by both springs and foam blocks. Women gymnasts also perform an additional event called Balance Beam.
