What Is the Essence of Biomedical Engineering Essay Example
What led me to choose Biomedical Engineering is my curiosity and love towards the technical perspective of biomedical equipment such as helmets and mastery of engineering related to it. My main aim was to pursue a course that is related to the engineering aspects of medicine. Science and math, in particular, will allow me to have a deeper view of medicine and biology. Electrical circuitry has inspired me since I was a child because I used to fix my electronic toys such as electric legs and hands. Despite the fact that those were robots, I had much interest in medically based circuitry since it would make me understand the medical field better.
I have taken all the prerequisite courses such as math, physics and biology that are required for a major in biomedical engineering. Also, I have done engineering-related electives so that my kno
...wledge base can be broadened. Those electives include a computer course containing research component and class in computer modelling. Besides these courses, I have contributed to many articles related to science in the newspapers such as the Bio-engineering around college. I have done a charitable work towards my intended major. I have voluntarily done data entry for a research being done about factors that cause knee complications in the biomedical engineering department of my college. This has given me some experience in the research of internal body processes and external physical activities.
In the process of taking Biomedical Engineering at UC, I will excel in my academics consistently. The most important factor is that I am dedicated and committed to becoming an active member of the student body within my department. Since I wil
be a student in the biomedical engineering major, I will possess experience and skills in artificial body parts that will allow me to be of service to other students especially those who had just begun their engineering major. I am always willing to learn and would love to help. I can achieve this through tutoring on topics such as “Metabolic engineering” within my department. By extension, I specialize in prosthetic limbs, hip and knee replacements and artificial hearts which is my intended emphasis.
