Tis Better To Have Loved And Lost Then To Have Never Loved At All Essay Example
“Tis better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all.” A famous quote from a very romantic poet, Alfred Lord Tennyson. In the poem In Memoriam, he expresses his loss of love and the consequences towards it. He is trying to explain feeling of being with someone who has the extordinary feeling of being with someone who has accepted you, and has the same amount you had for them but it ended for a reason to have never loved at all.
To an extent, I would agree with Tennyson for a certain amount of reasons. I believe Tennyson has an interesting point of view towards the subject of love because he has gone through the experience of his first love. I haven’t gone through what he has, but I have gone to what it seems like to me a
... similar experience.
“It feels like I’ve waited a very long time, but with Bella, I’m ready to start my life,” lines spoken by Edward from the epic love story of Twilight. Edward fell in love with a regular girl who wasn’t a vampire; on the other hand, he was a blood sucking vampire. Even though Bella knows the risk of getting hurt, she still goes with Edward.
Technically everything that goes in someone’s life, you will go have pain no matter what. Tennyson famous quote is known throughout the world and is used often and is trying to say if we are going to get hurt, might as hurt through the experience of love. With Bella, she has never been in love or had a similar experience and knowing the consequences dated Edward, along th
way had struggles but had Edward by her side. At the end, she finally had the ability to feel wanted and pain but through love then going through pain alone.
Love is a very powerful word filled with many meanings. To me, love is a word that means caring, joy, and happiness.
Most people in their life will go through the experience. I indeed am going through a similar experience as well. In my point of view, it’s the best feelings a person could have.
