When it comes to societal benefits from a relationship between humans and nature, there is an extensive list ranging from economic development opportunities (i.e., eco-tourism), conservation efforts aimed at preserving certain species or habitats that are critically important for maintaining biodiversity (i.e., protecting coral reefs or rainforests), increased awareness about climate change issues which can lead to better understanding about how humans impact their environment (i.e., through consumer choices), as well as improved quality of life for individuals by providing them access to clean air/water resources and recreational activities like hiking or swimming in natural bodies of water such as oceans or lakes.
