What is Modern Homo Sapiens?
Modern Homo sapiens, also known as Homo sapiens sapiens, evolved from their archaic ancestors about 200,000 years ago. Since then, they have become the only surviving species of the genus Homo and are now considered to be the most intelligent species on Earth.Modern Homo sapiens have a number of physical characteristics that distinguish them from other hominids. Most notably is their larger brain size; modern humans have an average cranial capacity of 1,250-1,400 cm3 compared to 500-750 cm3 in their archaic counterparts. This increase in brain size has allowed for more complex thought processes and an ability to understand abstract concepts and use language. They also possess a bipedal locomotion which allows them to move more efficiently than other hominids. In terms of behavior, modern humans are highly social creatures with a tendency towards cooperation and altruism that is not seen in other primates. They are able to form large societies with intricate trade networks and political structures due to their use of language and sophisticated communication skills. Additionally, they are adept at toolmaking which allows for greater manipulation of resources as well as technological advancement over time such as the development of fire or agriculture.Modern Humans can be found living in all parts of the world today ranging from dense urban centers like New York City or Tokyo to small rural villages in Africa or South America all while thriving off different sources such as hunting & gathering or agricultural farming techniques depending on where they live geographically speaking. The overall success of Homo sapiens has been attributed largely due to our adaptability; we can survive almost any environment through our resourcefulness combined with our collaborative nature.
