Moreover, this inequality has been linked to increased crime rates in certain areas due to the desperation of those struggling financially who feel they have no other option than turning towards illicit activities for income generation.In order for society to effectively tackle this problem many suggest government intervention through the implementation of policies that attempt to reduce inequality and promote social mobility amongst different socioeconomic classes. These could include progressive taxation systems which place higher taxes on wealthy individuals and corporations while providing relief on lower-income earners; increasing minimum wages; providing more access points for education; investing in public services like healthcare; encouraging savings schemes for all members of society regardless of income level; introducing job training opportunities for those from low-income backgrounds; or providing subsidies for rent or utilities payments amongst others options depending on each country’s situation. Ultimately though it is important that citizens become aware of their own roles when it comes addressing this issue by promoting equality within their own communities through acts such as volunteering time with local organizations that serve underprivileged populations or utilizing skillsets towards causes that benefit everyone regardless of income levels alike so we can bridge the gap between rich and poor together.
