During the carbon dioxide experiment, the bubbled gas rapidly changed colors, resulting in a slight green color. When adding Alka Seltzer to the test tube, there was lots of pressure, causing a color change in limewater from clear to nearly milky and rapid small bubbles. In the 3reath experiment, large bubbles occurred along with a color change from clear to nearly milky. To maximize gases and shorten their distance traveled, gas generator test tubes are filled almost to the top with chemicals. In the hydrogen generation experiment, mossy zinc reacts with HCL to form hydrogen gas. Similarly, in the oxygen generation experiment, manganese reacts with hydrogen peroxide to produce oxygen. The balanced equation for the reaction between 0

2 and H2 is given by 2H2 + 02 > 2H20. Bromothymol blue in the CO2 experiment indicates the amount of CO2 in a solution through a color change. It is blue in basic solutions and yellow in acidic solutions. A murky green solution indicates that it is neutral. In conclusion, properties of gases show considerable variation in reactions with flame and other substances.

Through my experience, I acquired knowledge on how to generate gases in a regulated setting to facilitate further investigation. This allowed me to gain insight into the potential hazards of gases and the importance of their correct handling and transit in our everyday lives. As a result of witnessing varied reactions, I will approach the management of materials with increased caution.
