Ethical behavior is the behavioral standards that are displayed by professional organization such as the Stanford University. According to the research that was carried out by Dr. Philip Zimbardo to study out the behavior in the prisons was not conducted in an ethical manner. The ethical behavioral standards of the research institution was violated in many instances by the many accounts they tried to handle the prison standards. It was wrong at first by the institution to allow such a study to be carried out in its premises bearing in mind the kind of research was and how it could affect the organization. ...xercise their children were undergoing and the conditions under which the study was conducted. Dr. Zimbardo and the prison wardens plan on how to hide the rotten conditions of the cells which are not in a conducive environment during the visiting time.
This shows a clear violation of the ethical standardsof the institution as there was no need to hide the situations to their parents if at all was a study case that was in accordance with the norms of a study.
The power of the social situation and social psychology concepts of conformity has been illustrated and can relate highly in the prison study. When the prison set up is established and the interview conducted, the prisoners and prison wardens are determined. Through the help of former convicts they set up the prison set up. It was throug
the influence of these convicts that the prisoners were treated to the reality of real prisoners where they were harassed, punished and put into the miserable conditions experienced in other prisons. The wardens also never underwent any training but from the social influence from the consultants, they also changed from being students and absorbed to the guards character. This was through the impact from the former convicts’ influence that brought out such behavior among the prisoners as well as the prison wardens and management.
