Watch out for the gender and the number of the adjectives as they must agree with the noun in the sentence.

The first statement says that Aude likes to read and to study. So, she’s a **serious** girl. (sérieuse, f.sg.)

Fatim says that she likes the English teacher and Marianne agrees. She thinks he’s awesome – **génial**, (génial, m.sg – male teacher).

**Mince** has the same form for both genders: Il est mince, elle est mince.

Oui, elle est mince.

Thomas is not nice, says Fatim, and Marianne agrees that he’s rather annoying – **pénible.**

**pénible** – an adjective that in masculine form ends in **-e** has the same form for both genders: **Il est pénible, elle est pénible.**

Oui, il est assez pénible.

The statement says that Noémie et Lili are nice. Marianne agrees that they are not nasty – **méchantes**

The only adjective in this exercise that agrees with both feminine gender and plural (Noémie et Lili, f.pl.) is: **méchantes.**

Oui, elles ne sont pas méchantes.
