During this break, I have found the learning process to be advantageous for both my present and future career path. The course has acquainted me with various sub-courses and topics that are directly relevant to my career objectives. By successfully completing the course, I now possess a comprehensive understanding of how health and wellness impact society as a whole. This newfound knowledge has significantly enhanced my viewpoint on health, specifically regarding how social determinants can influence the prevalence of chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular disorders in different societal contexts.
As a practicing nurse, this comprehension of how social determinants contribute to disease rates has been a significant achievement in my profession.
With the acquisition of knowledge, I am now able to educate and offer assistance to patients with confidence. As a devoted and enthusiastic healthcare professional, the course material has furnished me with valuable p
...erspectives and insights that I will actively incorporate into my profession. A vital lesson I have grasped is comprehending how social, political, historical, and economic factors influence society's health. It is evident to me that encouraging community social interaction plays a crucial part in improving overall wellness.
Individuals who are less social have a higher likelihood of experiencing stress, anxiety, and depression. This increased vulnerability to life-threatening illnesses such as stroke, high blood pressure, and other cardiovascular diseases also exists (Raphael, 2010). Additionally, I have gained knowledge on health disparities in marginalized populations that hinder their ability to live sustainably. The course employed critical inquiry, active engagement, teamwork, conceptual exploration, and interactive discussions to analyze the factors impacting health and health inequalities within society. Through this approach, I now feel confident in applying the
strategies I've learned to address challenges within my community. I firmly believe that I have fully utilized my potential for learning and can offer real-world expertise in resolving societal issues. One notable example is when we were educated on the importance of collaborative efforts among various sectors and professions in improving the health status of a specific group.
Through this topic, I have realized the impact I can have as a nurse in improving the health of my community. In my role as a nurse, I am able to offer guidance and education to society on making advantageous lifestyle choices. This involves knowledge about nutrition, medication management, and emphasizing physical well-being. The course has also helped me understand my responsibility and develop self-awareness, which will aid in my professional growth. Furthermore, learning research methodology in healthcare has provided me with the essential abilities to examine health interventions (Raphael, 2010).
With the experience and skills I have gained, I am confident that I can build a strong foundation for my career advancement. I now have the ability to effectively resolve issues and make decisions within my expertise. As I continue in my nursing profession, I will use the knowledge from this course to uphold ethical standards and improve our healthcare system. At first, I was worried about meeting the demands of being a professional healthcare provider in our country. However, I have since learned about various social interventions that can efficiently address health issues promptly.
In terms of teaching the population about health topics, I have gained knowledge on organizing them in a more sustainable manner. This new experience will surely benefit both society and my personal career development.
