In my opinion, what makes the film interesting is the fact that it systematically explores the theme of fear such that all generations can relate their fears as well as the scheme into the theme. I believe it is this rationality that makes it a flawless combination of science fiction and horror film as evidenced in the instances of haunting and the characters fear that ends up to becoming sensible, thereby triggering the audience to understand their actions. I was quite impressed by the fact that the storyline is narrated from the perspectives of all the characters such that none of its characters are heroes but rather normal people going about their normal routines. Despite of the fact that the storyline seem ridiculous, the manner in which it is told, realistically and slowly makes the ridiculous feature not to even matter. This aspect is what makes the film very convincing and at the same time haunting.

In conclusion, invasion of the body snatchers is without doubt among the most fascinating and chilling science fiction film in history which can be viewed as a warning on the loss of emotions, compassion and individuality to a cold and pseudo-rational conformity. In my thoughts, the storyline can also be viewed on a more emotional, personal as well religious and universal perspective.
