The prevailing trend towards extreme thinness is evident in various publications – from tabloids to style magazines. The emaciated, anguished silhouettes of females are ubiquitous nowadays. The issue has gained significant exposure in media recently. While it is a fact that models have traditionally maintained a slim figure to exhibit fashion apparel effectively, it is inaccurate to claim that young women have always idolized such miniature physiques as their standards.

Previously, models were slender and actresses were considered better role models due to their curvier figures. However, presently there has been a merging of glamour and fashion which has contributed to an escalation in anorexia cases among susceptible teenagers resulting in increased fatalities annually.

Regardless of debates or cautions aired on Breakfast News, these images remain a constant source of inspiration for girls who desire that same sickly physique, as evidenced by the multitude of women who attend various slimming clubs, count calories incessantly and recite adages like "A moment on the lips, forever on the hips".
