On the basis of my understanding of the textual representation of chapter 12 summary, I am optimist regarding the future on earth. I believe that the best resource for improving our world and at the same time enhancing the state of humanity regardless of the various challenges we face is creative innovations and virtuous ideas that help in addressing the challenges arising thereby improving the quality of life ultimately sanctioning us to enjoy a more lightly life on our planet. It is evident that with the exemption of climatic changes, essentially all social, environmental as well as specific indicators of our health are enhanced by technology as time passes even with the increase of human population. As the chapter enlightens on the global challenges likely to face the earth such as population increase that is likely to lead to more consumption, I believe t
...hat we shall overcome the risks threatening our existence by for instance reaching new stages of space colonization and post human through innovative ideas (Christian, Brown & Benjamin, 2013).
In my opinion, the salvation of the world is inevitable and while the pessimistic may argue that our future is vulnerable to extreme climate changes, epidemic illness, famine, poor access to education n and human preference towards greed and violence, they fail to understand the fact that sustainability is still possible by for instance embracing low carbon cultures that targets at the reduction of inequity and poverty that can be effectively powered by the exhibition of new technologies. For instance, changes in climate are linked to various phenomenon including deforestation and acidification of oceans, a portent that reveals that humans ought to understand the
dynamics that link them while at the same time embracing a global approach by understanding that they are global problems requiring erudition of global citizenship. I always imagine a world where summits on the major challenges affecting the human race will bring up not only an interdisciplinary but also a global perception of big history. Through this, the chances of succeeding will without doubt be greater than it is today.
