Overpopulation in the Philippines can be caused by an increase in birth rates and with it a decline in death rates because of advances in medicine, and it can also be cause by the lack of education among people. What makes the population explosion a problem? This explosion of growth alerts politicians and economists because of the reason that human beings need resources in order to survive.

Family planning allows individuals and couples to anticipate and attain their desired number of children and the spacing and timing of their births. It is achieved through use of contraceptive methods and the treatment of involuntary infertility.
