the caregiver is anywhere to be found. That’s what happened to me early this year. I had left a caregiver in charge of my child and by the time I returned back home, my child was missing, with absolutely no concrete evidence on where he could be.

Well, I really never knew where to start the search, especially in this highly populated city, and in such situation, I was very nervous of tracing back my child. Of course, there couldn’t be any other credible source I could rely on to find my child, other than the social media. I went ahead to report the alleged ‘stolen’ child with one of the TV channels, and within a day or two, there were news everywhere about the missing child, “my child”.It took some days before I could hear any news on my child. But thank goodness, one day as I was hunched on one of the TV channels as usual, with hope that I could get a trace of my son, I heard on the news headline that my child has been found and was already in safe hands. And yes, isn’t it the power of mass media and advertising that I was lucky to have my child back? Of course it is.

Conclusion

Mass media results in a more informed society and influences individual’s personal lives, based on their personal beliefs, and demographics. A coin has two sides, and so is the mass media. It has its good sides and bad sides. It’s up to the consumers, though, to pick what is good from the media and leave its bad points. Also, those who use the mass media know

that, this is a powerful source in the society, how you use it can vulgarize, brutalize, or lift the society to a better level.
