Granny Weatherall and Miss Emily Grierson, the protagonists of "The Jilting of Granny Weatherall" and "A Rose for Emily" respectively, possess several important similarities. Despite differing plots, settings, and themes, these characters share three distinct traits that make them alike. However, these similarities result in different outcomes for each character. Both Granny Weatherall and Miss Emily are portrayed as stubborn elderly women in the beginning of their stories.
