To guarantee a satisfactory grade on your paper, it is essential to include a Works Cited page in either ML or PAP format without using block quotes. Be sure to use your own words and properly cite sources, avoiding popularizing. It is important to have proper grammar, spelling, organization, and presentation. For presentations, dress professionally with dress pants and shoes paired with a button-down shirt for men while women should wear dress pants/shirt or a dress/skirt (no minis!) with matching dress shoes. Your presentation should last between 8-10 minutes long with at least 5 minutes devoted to presenting information. Use the remaining time to explain or demonstrate your creative piece. The Creative Piece carries 40 points: during your presentation you must present/explain yours - how well it supplements research matters most but also the effort/time put into it (which Ms.H cannot assess accurately). Ensure clarity in what you submit/present for class evaluation purposes!Your creative project should not appear rushed or of middle school quality. The nature of the project can take various forms, so long as it meets high standards. Examples from previous years include children's books, music videos, scrapbooks, models, class demos and display boards. Two due dates to remember are January 22nd for
typed proposal including two detailed paragraphs (double-spaced), outlining your chosen topic along with subtopics and sections you plan to cover and explaining why this topic interests you; the second paragraph should describe in detail what your creative piece will entail, how you plan to create it and what the final product will look like. This enables Ms.H to give guidance on your project progression. Also due is an annotated bibliography containing ten sources by February 1st that relate to your research paper. Final research papers must be submitted by all students on February 25th followed by Creative pieces, along with printed copies of Powering slides due on March 4th irrespective of presentation date.
During class from March 4th to March 8th (and potentially on March 11th), presentations will occur. It is crucial to acknowledge that any sources utilized must be cited in either ML or PAP format and accompanied by a paragraph summary illustrating their significance to the investigation.
