The introduction of the Rorschach test-like logo for the 2012 London Olympics garnered criticism for resembling a distorted swastika or something suggestive. However, the controversy surrounding the logo pales in comparison to the outcry that erupted with the unveiling of the Olympic mascots for the same event. Dubbed Wenlock and Mandeville, these mascots are far from conventional, unlike previous Olympic game mascots such as bears, otters, owls, and eagles. Wenlock and Mandeville are sleek, futuristic, and metallic-looking cyclops creatures. Although their creators claim they represent drops of steel with camera eyes, it's challenging to decipher their appearance at first sight. Additionally, these mascots are unique in that they must cater to both children and depict their home country, which is a perplexing epithet.
