What is Us Government?
The United States Government is the federal government of the United States, a republic in North America, composed of 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories and several island possessions. The government is composed of three branches: legislative, executive and judicial. The powers and duties of these branches are defined by the U.S Constitution. The federal government shares power with state governments, which are also established by the Constitution.The legislative branch consists of two chambers: the House of Representatives and the Senate. Together they create laws which apply to all US citizens. Congress has exclusive power over tax collection as well as other financial matters such as trade agreements and tariffs. The main purpose of Congress is to represent citizens’ interests in Washington D.C., while promoting national unity within an ever-changing society; it serves both to pass laws that benefit all Americans and to act as a check on presidential power through its oversight functions for executive agencies and departments such as Defense or Treasury in addition to its role in approving cabinet appointments made by the president. The executive branch consists mainly of the President who serves as head-of-state and Commander in Chief of all U.S military forces; his primary responsibility is implementing laws passed by Congress through his cabinet secretaries (heads) for various departments such as State or Education among others who oversee their respective areas according to legislation passed by Congress while also working closely with lawmakers on policy initiatives that impact their respective agencies or departments; furthermore he can veto any bill passed by Congress although this can be overridden with enough votes from legislators if they deem it necessary for passage into law regardless Finally there is Judicial Branch which interprets US laws via court cases brought before them; Supreme Court justices appointed by President serve life terms once confirmed allowing them independently consider legal issues without fear of dismissal though rulings can still be challenged at lower courts if deemed necessary ; ultimately it helps protect rights & liberties outlined in Constitution while interpreting contested matters between different states & individuals. In summary, Us Government works together ensure fair administration justice throughout country providing necessary services security citizens need live productive lives.
