What is Oil And Natural Gas?
Oil and natural gas are two of the most important energy sources in the world. They are used for a wide range of activities including heating, transportation, production of synthetic materials, electricity generation and much more. In recent years, oil and natural gas have become increasingly important due to their abundance and relatively low cost when compared with other forms of energy such as renewable sources like solar or wind power. The majority of the world’s oil supply is found within sedimentary basins that were formed millions of years ago. Oil can also be found beneath the ocean floor where it is retrieved by drilling rigs. Natural gas is also sourced from underground reservoirs but must first be extracted using specialized equipment and processes such as fracking. Once produced from these locations either source can then be refined into useful products such as gasoline or diesel fuel depending on its intended use or purpose. From an environmental standpoint there are both pros and cons associated with each source of energy production. On one hand they provide a reliable source of energy which has allowed us to develop technologies which improve our lives in many different ways. On the other hand however their extraction has been linked to numerous negative impacts on environment ranging from air pollution to water contamination amongst other issues related to climate change caused by greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere during combustion processes when these fuels are burned for energy purposes . Given this dichotomy, governments worldwide have adopted policies that encourage greater conservation while simultaneously seeking out new methods for producing clean & renewable forms of energy that could potentially replace them in the future if enough progress is made over time regarding research & development efforts focused on renewables . Ultimately it will take collective action across all sectors whether public , private or otherwise even coupled with further technological advances before we properly address some long standing global challenges concerning sustainability & reducing emissions levels impacting our planet at large .
