What is New Zealand?
New Zealand, also known as Aotearoa in the native language, is an island nation situated in the South Pacific Ocean. The country consists of two main islands, North Island and South Island, separated by Cook Strait. Tourists can get involved in cultural activities like attending a traditional hangi feast or visiting one of many local markets selling handmade crafts including carvings (pounamu), weavings (harakeke) and jewelry (taonga).
