What is Molecular Biology?
Molecular Biology is a field of science that studies the structure and function of biological molecules. It includes the study of DNA, RNA, proteins, carbohydrates, enzymes and other macromolecules involved in cellular processes. Molecular Biology has a wide range of applications in biotechnology, medicine and agriculture.The principles of molecular biology are based on understanding the structure of biological molecules and how they interact with one another to form organisms. In addition, they can also study how various cellular processes work by studying the expression levels of genes in different tissues or organisms.Molecular biologists can also apply their knowledge to develop new drugs or treatments for diseases by working on techniques such as gene therapy or protein engineering. They can modify existing drugs or create new ones that target specific parts of cells more effectively than traditional therapies do. In addition, they can identify genetic markers associated with certain diseases so that doctors can better diagnose and treat them more accurately. Finally, molecular biologists are working on ways to use genetic engineering to produce crops that are more resistant to pests and disease while providing higher yields than traditional farming methods allow for greater food security around the world. In summary, Molecular Biology is an incredibly active field which continues to advance rapidly due its potential applications across many areas from biotechnology through medicine all the way up into agriculture – it is set to continue being at the forefront of scientific discovery for some time yet.
