What is Encoding And Decoding?
Encoding and decoding are processes that make it possible for us to share communication. Encoding is the act of taking information in one form and transforming it into another form. Decoding is the opposite process of taking an encoded message and converting it back into its original form. The most common example of encoding is language. We learn to understand language by encoding spoken words or written text into something that we can interpret, such as a meaning or feeling. For example, when we read a book, we take in the words on the page (encoding) and transform them into something meaningful to us (decoding). Encoding can also be used as a way to protect information from being decoded by unauthorized users. This type of encoding is known as cryptography, which uses methods like encryption and hashing to encode messages so that only those with access can decode them. In addition to protecting data, encoding can also be used for digital media like videos, images, and audio filesallowing them to be stored more efficiently than if they were stored in their raw format. By using formats such as MPEG-4 for video files or MP3 for audio files, these types of media can be compressed down and stored more effectively than if they were not encoded at all. The encoded files take up less space while still retaining quality when being played back later onmaking them ideal for storage purposes. Overall, encoding and decoding are important processes that allow us to communicate effectively with others and store data efficiently without compromising its integrity or security. Without these two processes working together harmoniouslywe wouldn’t have nearly as much control over our communications or data storage solutions.
