What is Churchill And Roosevelt?
Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt were two of the most influential leaders of the 20th century. They were both iconic figures during World War II, as Churchill led Britain and Roosevelt led the United States to victory against Nazi Germany. Their close alliance during this time was essential in defeating the Axis Powers and ushering in a new age of democracy, freedom, and peace. The relationship between Churchill and Roosevelt began shortly after Churchill became Prime Minister in 1940. Both men had a mutual respect for each other’s vision and ideals, which translated into an effective working relationship with both men supporting each other on important decisions. They frequently communicated through letters or telephone calls which allowed them to stay connected even when they were not face-to-face. This communication was essential for coordinating their combined efforts during the war effort. One of their most well-known achievements was unifying against Nazi Germany with a joint declaration known as The Atlantic Charter. This document outlined eight universal principles that would serve as a guidepost for post-war rebuilding such as self-determination, economic cooperation, disarmament, social welfare reform, international law enforcement, human rights protection etc. It demonstrated their commitment to advancing democracy across Europe despite their different governments’ policies toward one another prior to World War II. Throughout WWII Churchill and Roosevelt maintained an ongoing dialogue on strategy for ending the war successfully without sacrificing too much in terms of human life or resources in order to protect those nations that were under threat from Nazi expansionism. Together they developed plans such as the Lend Lease Act which enabled America to provide military hardware to Britain while still maintaining its neutrality status before it officially entered WWII later on 1941; The Casablanca Conference which established Allied goals of unconditional surrender from all Axis powers; The Tehran Conference which solidified plans for invading Normandy; The Yalta Conference which set up conditions post WWII; And finally Potsdam Agreement that specified occupation zones after Germany’s surrender among many other accomplishments It is clear that both Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt made invaluable contributions towards bringing about victory over Nazi Germany during WWII thanks largely due to strong bond forged between them by mutual respect willingness collaborate together find solutions complex problems faced at time.
