What is Almost Every Day?
Almost Every Day is a 2017 autobiographical novel by American author, poet and artist Allen Wolf. The book follows the lives of two brothers, Danny and Keith, who are constantly on the move due to their parents’ erratic lifestyle. Despite all the instability in their lives, the boys still find solace in each other as they traverse through life’s uncertainties. The story begins with Danny recalling his childhood memories growing up in California with his brother Keith and their parents. As soon as things start to go well for them, however, their father abandons them and they have no choice but to move around frequently while searching for him. This nomadic lifestyle has its own unique set of challenges; it forces Danny and Keith to become independent at a very young age and confront unfamiliar environments every day. Throughout the novel, both brothers learn valuable lessons about resilience and perseverance despite facing immense adversity throughout their journey. They also discover that family ties can be stronger than any amount of distance or hardship trying to keep them apart. Alongside these difficult moments come many happy ones too; from living out of a tent during summer vacations to swimming in nearby lakes or just playing together outdoors there is plenty of joy shared between Danny and Keith amidst all this chaos that surrounds them daily. Overall, Almost Every Day is an inspirational story about hope even when everything else looks bleak. It serves as a reminder that although life may throw us some curveballs along the way we can always overcome our struggles if we stay strong together knowing that love will see us through whatever comes our way.
