In fact, the Philippines currently ranks 12th in terms of global population size with a total of 101,833,938 people as of July 2011. Over time, the population in the Philippines has grown rapidly which has caused other societal challenges like poverty and juvenile delinquency.

Additionally, the Philippines is currently experiencing economic crises that add to the government's challenges. The adoption of family planning measures acts as a highly efficient approach to tackling the fast population growth.
