Reaction Paper About Neust – Cmbt Gardenia Tour Essay Example
Our first destination was Gardenia's Factory in Sta. Rosa, Laguna which produces various types of bread. Upon arrival at Gardenia, there was a 30-minute delay for the film showing due to limited seating, resulting in the students being divided into two groups. During this time, we had lunch, relaxed, took pictures, napped and freshened up ourselves. After the 30-minute wait, the film showing began with a 5-minute video showcasing the history of Gardenia. In the lobby, Gardee - Gardenia's mascot - warmly welcomed us. It was mandatory to switch off our mobile phones while inside the factory.
Prohibiting photography and videography within the plant, our plant tour began after registration and a brief video presentation. Upon entering the fully automated production area, an abundance of flour (or possibly sugar) caught my eye, destine
...d for bread production. It is important to note that all ingredients, dough, and bread are handled solely by automated processes, never touched by human hands. The dough is shaped into balls, with each ball producing a single loaf. I found the sight of these dough balls as they moved along the conveyor quite endearing. Finally, the balls are placed into rectangular loaf pans and proceed to the baking process.
After the bread is baked, it is taken to the colossal cooling towers at the Gardenia plant. The production capacity of 6,000 loaves per hour is truly impressive. Once cooled, the loaves are packed into plastic bags and placed in trays. These trays are then loaded onto the fleet of 150 trucks for delivery. Our tour of the production facility was reminiscent of an episode from Discovery Channel's "How It's Made", a beloved show in
my family. I highly recommend visiting the Gardenia factory in Sta.
I recommended Rosa as a field trip destination to the school administrators. I believe that kids will enjoy the experience and learn about something they consume daily. Many thanks to Gardenia for their hospitality. I had a fantastic time! :D
Gardenia is likely the most sanitary and efficient bread plant in the Philippines. The only drawback is the excessive use of chemical preservatives, such as calcium propionate or 'anti-amag'. However, it's understandable considering their bread needs to last for a week or so on air-conditioned supermarket shelves. That's why we prefer neighborhood bakeries. :) They serve the entire country and even have their trucks board ROROs. The Gardenia Factory is open to all, and if you can organize a group, you can directly coordinate with them for a tour.
Despite being slightly pricier than other brands, I stick with Gardenia because its texture and taste are worth the extra cost. Their Black Forest bread is my favorite, perfect for snack time. Additionally, their breads can be eaten on their own with no filling.
