At this point Rosella has been gone from her family for an extended period of time and her controlling husband is angry and upset with her sudden departure. He decided he must find her and bring her back to the family, not because he loves and misses her but instead because his mistress refused to do his housework. He decided to send Citations, a plumber looking for work at Moss's plumbing company, to find his wife and bring her back to Prepare.

Citations is a very comical character corpulent and clumsy and utterly untrained in detective work, unsurprisingly he soon gets lost in the vastness of Venice.

Soldier uses many style elements to make this film intriguing.

First of all he uses lighting in a way that makes the slightly older cast look elegant and beautiful. He also uses close up shots and long distant shots in a way that makes the movie more intimate and allows us as viewers to feel connected with the characters. Another element he uses is making this film is his choice of actors.

This film has many themes that all contribute to the overall story of Rosella. One of the main themes we see is the theme of oppression and the regaining of power.

Rosella represents the mistreated, typical housewife in the beginning of the film. She ignored and unappreciated living a life that gives her no

satisfaction or happiness. Being middle aged she also represents the older generation and their fight between duty and individual happiness.

As we see Rosella transform and find herself we witness her breaking the shackles of the typical housewife and taking life into her own hands. In a way she represents the changing of times as the traditional role of a woman is forgotten and the new powerful and independent woman emerges.

Fifty years ago the idea of a mother leaving her husband and family behind would have been unthinkable. But modern day with woman's independence at an all time high society are changing and this film does a great Job at capturing these changes and presenting them in an entertaining yet accurate way.

Some critics such as Frank Love believe that the film was a little too eccentric. "Characters' eccentricities feel contrived and the wackiness seems forced, though the film's amiable ambling does keep the viewer intrigued, if not charmed.

"(Love) Although this is a valid point when critiquing the film it is also unimaginative as the crazy comedy of this film is what give it its charm. Bread and Tulips is a very successful and valuable film for ultimate reasons. One reason would be that it clearly gets its main themes across to the audience.

It succeeded in its goal to address the issue of self happiness and women independence.

It gives hope to an older generation that its never too late to start living which was an important concept of this film. Comedy is used in many way throughout the film to keep its rather serious topic lively and humorous. Robert Bert, a

film critic believes that the true success of this film is not in the storyline but instead in the actors. "Magnetite is the secret of this film's romantic charm, because e like her so much.

(Bert) The actors and actresses of this film put on an outstanding performance, Alicia Magnetite the actress who played Rosella in particular. Magnetite was able to charm and mesmerism viewers with her ordinary ways making the story believable. Instead of giving the role of Rosella to a younger woman Soldier castes Magnetite to appeal to the older generation and to make the story more realistic. Overall this film succeeded in many ways entertaining and charming viewers and also communicated its message. Bread and Tulips is a masterful film filled with comedy and meaning.

Its main theme of women independence and happiness is felt by all, as Soldier expertly used many elements of style to portray his vision for the film. The selection of the cast, lighting, editing, and use of colors are Just a few examples of Solenoid's expertise in the area of film. Arousal's Journey from a lonely housewife into a woman with love and passion firmly in her life inspired all to find happiness in life no matter the cost.
