why is outlining important in public speaking?

like a blueprint for your speech. allows you to see the full scope and content of your speech at a glance, you can judge whether each part of your speech is fully developed, whether you have adequate supporting materials for your main points, and whether the main points are properly balanced. makes sure the related items are together, ideas flow from one to another, and that the structure of your speech will stand up
