With an increase in demand for the new products comes and increase in demand for new jobs; companies will begin to hire more people to assist in meeting the production quotas. These new "green jobs" will improve a company's economy and in the long run, the national economy will also see improvements. Not only does it help the country, but green living helps us directly too.The pay-off we would see from the improvements to our lifestyle is a large one; cleaner air, cleaner water, and a cleaner planet are just some of the benefits that we could enjoy in our lifetime. Although it is not an immediate result, the change we make now will benefit the upcoming generations and make their world a better place to live. If people really sat down to think about it, this project is not a waste of money, it is a long term investment that will pay off and bring back even more profits.

The change in fuels for cars alone can take a handful of years and in the end, it won’t be our generation that benefits from it. Instead of seeing the results, we are stuck in working for the future population’s benefits. As for the revenue that would be created it will, like the statement before, take years to bring back the money “invested”.Plenty of companies would fund green projects but when they see how long it takes to get profit, they steer away from it and frankly, who wouldn’t.

Why waste millions of dollars when you’re not the one who’s going to see the improvements. Overall, the timeline for a greener lifestyle is one of the main reasons why going green is not worth spending the money. Most of the opposition’s arguments are mostly centered on the idea that it is not worth our time, energy and money to have a greener lifestyle.Developing new technologies is an expensive process and manufacturing them once they work needs even more money; are companies really going to spend that much money to try out a new process that may or may not work? No. If a company is already suffering economically, they wouldn’t even be able to pay for the thousands of new jobs needed and this could drive them into bankruptcy.

Even more important is the matter that these new projects and developments need individuals or companies to fund them.Private investors will not loan their money out to a project that doesn’t promise quick and large returns; without these investors, the projects will sit on the waiting list. With the amount of money needed to

be spent, many people are beginning to think that going green is not necessary for our survival. As with every debate, green technologies (mainly fuels) are compared side to side to see which one is better and then people decide which they would like to support. This argument tends to be mostly about comparing energy sources and alternative fuels.People seem to realize that a gasoline powered car is far more powerful than an electric car and the same goes for oil-powered businesses.

Oil might not be extremely efficient but the process which turns the sun’s power into energy isn’t that much better. The difference is that to get solar panels in your home, it will take a good chunk of money while you don’t have to fork it out to keep living the way you already are. Regarding alternate energy sources, the efficiency of these depend largely on their location. You cannot have a successful wind farm if it is installed in an area that is not windy.The trouble with finding a location is that there seems to be no room in the cities for large wind farms or acres to be filled with unattractive solar panels. Not only does it not look good but if environmentalists really want to save the environment, why would they clutter up open space with ugly wind turbines or large solar panels? Once again, seeing how “efficient” the new energies are and how much they cost, it is not worth our time.

Green living has been talked about on every news cast, talk show and political debate but there is still so much more to learn about it.For now,

we have to sides debating against each other about whether or not it is a good alternative to our current living conditions and if it is worth the effort. While the supporting side says it is an investment and a good deed for the planet, the opposition calls it a waste of money and a project with no results within our lifetime. I believe that the view a person will take varies according to their own principles, not based on the propaganda or the debates, and it is up to the individuals to decide which side they will support and make a difference whether it is good or bad.
